Why should you add Melali to your list of Best Places to Stay in Bingin and Uluwatu?
Melali Bingin is located on the Bukit Peninsula on Bali’s south west coast. We offer beautiful Boutique Accommodation that is close to some of the best beaches in Bali – Bingin, Uluwatu, Padang Padang, Thomas Beach and more. It is perfect for anyone looking for a quiet, intimate and relaxing stay. Read on for 11 reasons why you should include a stay with us during your visit…

1. your home away from home
Melali Bingin is a small property of just three rooms, accommodating a maximum of 6 guests at any time. Whether staying in a room or renting the whole villa exclusively, our guests often comment they “feel at home” at Melali. The intimate size allows for guest privacy and relaxed and rejuvenating stays. Overcrowded buffet breakfasts, kids clubs and fighting for pool loungers don’t apply here. So come stay with us and make yourself at home!
2. Genuine Hospitality
Whether you’re arriving for the first or fourth stay, guests visiting Melali can expect a warm welcome and friendly smiles. We (Liam & Elise, owners and operators) love what we do and have a genuine desire to help make your stay and your time in Bingin & Uluwatu as unique, relaxing and memorable as possible. We have a vast knowledge and a collective 50 years experience in the accommodation, hotel and restaurant industries. Our whole team is 100% committed to providing you with the best service and personalised care. All you need to do is concentrate on the most important part – having a wonderful holiday

3. The complimentary breakfast
From the very beginning, our intention was to serve a breakfast that few would forget. From freshly ground Mandaling Estate Sumatran Coffee to wake you from your morning slumber, to pressed fruit and vegetable juices using locally sourced, organic ingredients. The main servings are heavenly. Start with our Coconut Porridge with caramelised banana and walnuts or the ever popular Melali Smoothie Bowl. If pancakes get your belly rumble on, then try the Healthy Oat Pancakes or the old school “Bali Pancake”. An egg person? You must try our Three Egg Omelette, which has quickly become a thing of legend. All breakfasts include the choice of a fresh fruit salad or wholegrain toast. It’ll be the time of day you look forward to the most.
4. Our insider tips & Recommendations
We love helping our guests get the most out of their stay in the area and are delighted to answer questions, provide tips and share local knowledge. Before during and after your stay. We often drop in at breakfast time to chat to guests and provide personalised recommendations for things to do and places to visit. Our guests also have access to our personally curated information books and hand drawn “treasure maps” – the perfect travel resource for the area. From the best beaches, to where to get a killer nasi campur or day trip ideas and finding the perfect sunset spot, we got you covered! Like to get a preview into some of our tips and recommendations? 5. our 'hidden in Bingin' location
Many of our guests choose Melali for being a great base to explore the area along with our proximity to the best beaches in Bali. Bingin Beach, Padang Padang, Uluwatu Nyang Nyang & Thomas Beach to name a few. They also choose Melali for our ‘hidden’ in Bingin location – no busy roads in earshot or sight. Instead you’ll find us at the end of a small, sleepy laneway with inhabited by other accommodations, Balinese homes, local warungs and generous farmland. We are also lucky to have Gooseberry Cafe & Restaurant and La Tribu Yoga just a short 100m stroll from us at Melali. You can check out more about our location here.
6. design & Style
All rooms and guest spaces are beautifully appointed with a keen attention to detail. Featuring locally crafted teak furniture, custom interiors, luxury linens and open air bathrooms. With jungle palm wallpaper and handcrafted fish scale tiles your bathroom experience will be one to remember. The custom furnishings, like the hand carved lamps, the multitude of batik patterned cushions and the handwoven rattan chairs, are all made in Bali using local fabrics and materials, showcasing the beauty of this wonderful island. Every aspect you see at Melali has been carefully considered to ensure you have a most comfortable, memorable and carefree stay.

7. Attention to detail & all the little things
One of the most important aspects of our job is to anticipate our guests needs and create a space where you don’t need to worry about a thing. In your room, you’ll find fresh flowers, hand made batik kimono’s, luxurious toiletries, international power sockets and earplugs for those light sleepers. The living area is stocked with herbal teas, freshly ground coffee and a selection of delicious, high quality snacks and drinks. We have complimentary sunscreen, a book swap, a mini gift shop and even a little “apotek” (pharmacy) with a selection of painkillers, toothbrushes and all the other little things we sometimes forget to pack when going on holiday.
8. Our dream team
Our amazing team of staff are really what makes Melali such a success. We absolutely couldn’t do this without them and our guests couldn’t agree more! Check any of our guest reviews and you’ll find numerous testimonials singing their praises. From their sensational cooking skills (those breakfasts!), their gorgeous smiles, their friendly and cheerful nature and their dedication to keeping Melali spotlessly clean. We are so thankful to have them as part of the Melali family and can’t wait for you to meet them.

9. We care about this island
Tourism and the development of Bali has been wonderful for the people here – bringing jobs, opportunity and wealth to many. However large scale tourism also puts enormous pressure on Bali’s natural environment and resources. We are conscious that we are all visitors to this beautiful island and strive to reduce our impact any way we can by implementing water recycling systems, reducing waste, supporting sustainable local farmers and more. You can check out out what else we do here.
10. A perfect base to explore the Bukit
The “Bukit” is known for its towering limestone cliffs, world class surf, beautiful beaches, stunning sunsets, and relaxed vibe. From Bingin Beach to Balangan, Padang Padang to Uluwatu, Nyang Nyang to Melasti and Nusa Dua – Bali’s Bukit Peninsula is a must on any great Bali itinerary and Melali is the perfect base from which to explore.
