Alchemy

Alchemy was born in Ubud in 2011 and finally came to Uluwatu in 2023, and we couldn’t be happier. With beautifully designed spaces overlooking a landscaped garden, their innovative menu is 100% plant-based, mostly gluten-free with little cooked or heated above 43 degrees celsius (110 F).Β  Vegan or not, you’ll love it. Breakfast and salad bars, wraps, burgers, pizzas, delicious treats, refreshing smoothies, invigorating juices, tonics and more. They also have a boutique and an air-conditioned co-working space.Β

Banana Lounge

Banana Lounge, tucked away in Bingin, is a laid-back villa restaurant, bar, and pool oasis that makes you feel like you’re hanging out at your friend’s house. Welcoming with a wonderful menu ofΒ Asian, Mediterranean, and Australian flavours. ExpectΒ casual poolside snacks to succulent grilled meats and buckets of prawns. For seating, grab a sun bed by the pool, relax in their dining area, or head up to their sunset deck. Popular with couples and larger groups alike. It’s easy to sun, swim, sip, and snack your whole day away here. Lovely.Β

Bartolo

Bartolo is all class. Sophisticated and intimate, making it ideal for a special night out with your favourite or a group of friends. Go for an aperitif – their cocktails, whipped up by expert mixologists, are some of the best on the Bukit, then stay for dinner because the food is excellent. Dishes are best enjoyed when shared. With spot on service, fantastic food and delectable drinks, Bartolo epitomises refinement without being pretentious. We absolutely love it.Β

Bingin Bagus Seafood BBQ

Experience the unforgettable nightly beach Seafood BBQ at Bingin Beach. Around 5pm, the beach warungs set up their BBQ stations ready to grill up the catch of the day. Choose from a variety of delicious seafood options like mahi-mahi fillets, whole snapper, squid, prawns, and more. All orders are served with water spinach, rice, and sambal. Head down early to get the sunset and relish this truly memorable dining experience. Not to be missed!Β

Bingin Ombak Warung

This legendary locally owned and operated establishment  formally known as ‘Made Warung’ holds the distinction of being the very first warung to grace Bingin Beach.  A perfect vantage point for admiring sunsets, surf, and beachgoers, Bingin Ombak Warung offers all the local favourites as well as tasty, western food, juices, smoothies, cold beer, cocktails, wine, and a Seafood BBQ at sunset.

Cacho's

This surf inspired Mexican cantina has been an iconic presence on the Bukit since its establishment in 2000 in Padang Padang. Their new location in Bingin is a towering three-story structure painted in a kaleidoscope of festive coloursΒ  – you cant miss it. The food is simple, no frills Tex-Mex style: burritos, chimichangas, tacos, big salads, and pizzas. They also do killer margaritas and cold beer. Sit on the roof top for a birds eye view over Bingin and beyond.Β

Cashew Tree

This family-owned garden cafe is the OG of Bingin. The Cashew Tree perfectly captures the mellow beach vibes that define the area. The setting is a delightful garden space, and the menu features delicious, wholesome and nutritious food, including plant-based and pescatarian options: loaded salad bowls, burgers, main dishes, smoothies, cocktails, wine, and boutique beers. On Thursdays they have live bands every Thursday night. We love this place, it’s a must-visit.

Cempaka

Located near Padang Padang Beach, this unassuming, locally owned, and family-run warung may look simple from the outside, but don’t let that fool you. The food at Cempaka is absolutely delish and super affordable! The menu is mostly Indonesian and Thai (curries, noodles, and rice dishes), with some western favourites (burgers, smoothie bowls, and salads). Check the special board in case they have some fresh catch of the day. We love it for a casual, low key dinner or lunch.Β

Chela

The first thing you’ll notice on arrival to Chela is the beautifully crafted bamboo structured roof. Once inside this unique space, choose from regular tables or floor seating with colourful cushions and low tables, or head out back to the garden. Their kitchen serves super tasty dishes that combine elements of Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and international cuisine: Nourishing salads, Shakshuka, Yabbouleh, Moussaka, Pork ribs, Fish, and succulent Steaks. They also have a great cocktail list.

D'Buchu

Run by the local Bingin surf legend Robbie and his family, this quaint warung has undergone a facelift in 2023. From a humble roadside shack, D’Buchu has evolved into a charming eatery while preserving its authentic local character. Illuminated by enchanting fairy lights at night, D’Buchu welcomes you with open arms. It captures the essence of the local vibe, allowing you to relax and observe the world passing by. It’s one of our absolute favourites.Β

D'Alvie

This cheap and cheery Indonesian diner specialises in Nasi Campur, or “mixed rice” in English. It typically consists of a serving of steamed rice accompanied by various small portions of other dishes. Indonesian tapas if you will. D’Alvie is bright and clean and ideal for a quick and very satisfying lunch. Expect generous portions at very reasonable prices. They cater to vegetarians and have some vegan options available. We love it.Β

Di Vino, by Casa Asia

DiVino, formerly known as Casa Asia, is the go-to Italian restaurant in Uluwatu. Owned and operated by passionate Italians who prioritise quality food and hospitality, and it shows. With a large variety of authentic Italian dishes, they’re famous for their authentic wood-fired pizzas & huge plates of home-made pasta. It’s a bustling spot that guarantees a vibrant and lively atmosphere every evening. They also have a great wine, cocktail and drink menu. We love it.Β

French’a Bingin is a bustling French Artisanal Bakery and patisserieΒ that’s a favourite spot for breakfast and lunch. With a French owner at the helm, their menu features an enticing selection of sandwiches, paninis, burgers, salads, crΓͺpes, pastries, and irresistible tarts and desserts. Be sure to indulge in their renowned croissants or pan-au-chocolat – because we think they’re the best on the Bukit! Great coffee too.Β

Gooseberry is a contemporary cafe & restaurant, just 100 meters from Melali. Chic,Β  modern with a fabulous menu that prioritises fresh seasonal ingredients with a touch of French influence. Enjoy delectable appetisers, mains, wood-fired, and grilled dishes made with premium ingredients. The standouts are their dry aged meats β€” just wow! They also have an extensiveΒ wine list and cocktail menu. We love it for an intimate dinner in the outdoor space under the twinkling lights. We love it.Β

Il Salotto

Il Salotto is one of our favourites. Owned by a group of Italian friends, it aims to “fuse Rome’s fashion-forward style, London’s quaint charm, and Manhattan’s cosmopolitan energy with Bali’s tropical style”. The menu showcases a variety of antipasti, pastas, and mains β€” seafood, meat, vegetarian, & vegan options. Sit at the bar or head out back to the intimate garden dining space. Wonderful food, cocktails, wines, and menu. As the night crawls on, hit the dance floor. DJs play until 2am on weekends.Β

Spectacularly situated on the sandy shores of Bingin Beach, Kelly’s Warung is relaxed and unpretentious and offers stunning views of one of Bali’s top surf breaks. Sister cafe to the Cashew Tree, Kelly’s is an icon of Bingin, attracting locals, expats, and beach enthusiasts throughout the day and night. Head down for Happy hour and stay for a stunning sunset.Β Delicious tacos, burgers, wraps, salads, local favourites, smoothies, juices, cold beers, and great cocktails. We love a beach day here.Β

Laggas may be simple by design β€” their kitchen is a converted shipping container β€”but don’t be deceived by the modest appearance; their fabulous team of chefs produce some of the tastiest dishes in Uluwatu, and their culinary prowess is far from ordinary. The mouthwatering Asian fusion menu features a delectable array of dumplings, noodles, salads, rice dishes, curries, and more. Laggas is a gem that delivers exceptional and memorable food. A true hidden gem and a favourite with expats and travelers who appreciate scrumptious, homemade, simple food. We LOVE this humble little place located in a quiet area of Uluwatu. Go for breakfast or lunch for simple home-style food prepared with love. Much of the menu is organic and gluten-free, with lots of vegan options. Save room for a visit to their incredible desert fridgeβ€”seriously delish! Our adoration for this place knows no bounds. Old-school, simple, and unpretentious. We wholeheartedly urge you to visit when you’re here!Β

Located in the heart of Uluwatu’s bustling eat street, the team behind La Baracca are passionate restaurateurs. With its charming vintage-inspired setting, you can choose to dine indoors or under twinkling lights for a casual yet intimate experience. Expect high quality home-style traditional and contemporary Italian cuisine at a very reasonable price. Wood-fired pizzas, pastas, salads, and main dishes, and for the vegans out there, they have a generous plant-based menu. They also have a great cocktail and wine list.Β

La Kantina has stolen our hearts! Inspired by beloved local Nasi campur warungs, it offers a unique customisable experience and an extensive selection of Indonesian and Italian /western dishes. Choose your own adventure by creating a plate that perfectly matches your taste and hunger needs. Fresh local ingredients, super tasty food, generous portions, and quick and easy diningβ€”it’s no wonder this place is a crowd pleaser. They also have a fab Γ  la carte menu, cakes and snacks, and seriously good coffee! We love it and highly recommend it.Β

La Terrazza is perched on the cliffside of Uluwatu, located halfway down the labyrinth of stairs. With spectacular views over Uluwatu, the best time to go is at sunset. They’ve got a great cocktail, wine and alcoholic drink list to get you started, all carefully curated concoctions. The food menu has all your Italian favourites – meat and cheese boards, salads, pizza and pasta, and meat and fish dishes.Β

Lola's Cantina Mexicana

Canggu’s favourite locale for margaritas, tacos, and good times is now open in Uluwatu. Located between Padang Padang and Uluwatu beaches, Lola’s Cantina Mexicana is fun, lively, and the food and drinks are deliciosa! Expect tantalising starters : taquitos, empanadas, and wings; and flavour-packed burritos, tacos, enchiladas, and cheesy quesadillas. And dont pass up their impressive selection of margaritas for a full Lola’s fiesta experience. We love it.Β

Mana provides the ideal setting for those seeking relaxed dining, a casual surf vibe, and beautiful sunsets. Their restaurant offers a diverse range of dishes representing a fusion of international flavours, combining elements of Mexican, Asian, and Western cuisine. The beautiful open-air building made from reclaimed teak and ironwood is set back from the cliff, but you can still take in the ocean views and sunset from the upstairs restaurant. If you prefer to be poolside, settle into one of their timber cabanas or sun loungers. Wonderful!Β

One of Canggu’s top restaurants, Mason has expanded with a second location, and it’s already making waves. With experienced restaurateurs at the helm, the food, drinks, ambiance, and service are exceptional. Expect meticulously crafted cocktails and simple yet innovative dishes that showcase the high quality of their ingredients, with a strong focus on wood-fired and flame-grilled dishes bursting with bold flavours. Fantastic choice for a special occasion, dinner with friends. Fantastic.Β

MΓ» Β is a gorgeous island bungalow resort perched atop Bingin clifftops and boasts stunning sunset views. Their restaurant, Abracadabra, aptly named due to that magical ocean view, offers a delightful menu of home-style seasonal dishes and a selection of seafood cooked on their clifftop BBQ. They also have an extensive plant-based menu. Be sure toΒ  leave room for dessert, because their home-made pastries, cakes, and tarts are to die for! Just lovely.Β

Ours

Ours Cafe is an all-day restaurant in Uluwatu with a Mediterranean-inspired menu. They specialise in homemade pasta, fresh fish, and seafood. The cozy interiors blend Balinese and Scandinavian styles, creating a “tropi-cool” ambiance. From flavourful bites like deep-fried olives and truffle parmesan fries to mains like chimi-churri steak, pan-seared salmon, chicken stroganoff, and a variety of homemade pastas. They also boast a great classic cocktail and wine list.Β 

Pok Pok

Pok Pok is a Thai/Asian street-style warung that guarantees a memorable experience. With their plastic stools and colourful vinyl table coverings they exude a super casual vibe. The food comes out quick, and the quality is excellent, offering an explosion of authentic flavours. The Pok Pok crew deserves a special mention tooβ€”professional, skilled, and always smiling, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. It’s a must visit that we absolutely adore.Β

Rolling Fork

Set within a beautiful antique Indonesian Joglo (like a cottage), the delightfulΒ Rolling Fork is a charming Italian restaurant that emanates warmth and character. The cozy and inviting atmosphere adds to its appeal. Inspired by quality and tradition, their menu features fresh homemade pastas and tasty pizzas, both made in house using organic ingredients, fresh fish, prime meat, and gluten-free and vegan options. Their food celebrates simplicity and a passion for great foodβ€”what’s not to love!Β

Salad Lab

A tiny little cafe near Padang Padang beach serves fresh salads, wraps, and fruit bowls. ‘Build your own’ concept here. Large selection of salads, vegetables, toppings, and dressings that you can choose to have in a bowl or wrapped in a fresh tortilla. They also have juices, tonics, and smoothies. Dine-in or delivery. We love it for a quick and healthy lunch.Β 

Shaka Riki

Shaka Riki is our go-to spot for a relaxed and exceptionally delicious Japanese on the Bukit. The restaurant has a delightful ambiance and wonderful service that keep us returning time and time again. The true highlight, however, is the food itself. The extensive menu brings together the vibrant flavours of Japan, Bali, and Hawaii, combining traditional Japanese techniques with imported ingredients from Japan and fresh local produce from Bali. We absolutely love Shaka!Β

For the partygoers, head down on a Sunday night for the famous Single Fin Sunday sessions. Experience the energetic atmosphere with DJ sets, live music, and a lively crowd embracing the vibrant party vibe of Bali.

Suka Espresso

Suka, a bustling and beloved Australian-style cafe has been a firm favourite of ours (and anyone who visits) for years. They take pride in their specialty coffee, sourced from Indonesia and roasted locally in Bali, and a menu that features familiar Western breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. With a focus on wholesome, fresh food and good vibes, Suka’s love for the simple things done well is evident in their satisfied customer base. Feel free to order anything from their menu; you can’t go wrong!Β 

Thirst Trap

Nestled next to the iconic Studio Repair (of Kuta’s famed Naruki) is this super cute hole-in-the wall coffee, juice, and bagel bar. Blink and you’ll miss it –Β  so don’t blink! Thirst Trap offers healthy and spicy slow-pressed juices, really really good coffee (regular or cold-pressed), mouthwatering smoothies, bangin’ bagels, delish smoothies, aΓ§ai and granola bowls. Their spotify is also always rocking a killer playlist. It’s the perfect spot to watch the world go by. Love it.Β

The Warung at Alila

The Warung at the ultra exclusive Alila Villas is an exquisite dining destination that captures the essence of Indonesian cuisine. Despite being located within a luxurious 5-star resort, the restaurant maintains a serene and elegant ambiance without feeling overly formal. Their menu focuses on local flavours and traditional recipes from across Indonesia. From aromatic spices to authentic dishes, this restaurant captures the essence of Indonesian gastronomy, providing guests with a memorable dining experience.Β 

3D Warung

3D has been a favourite of ours for over 10 years. The menu is cheap and cheerful and food is cooked to order. Everything is delicious, but we personally go back for the Ayam bakar (BBQ chicken) and bakmie goreng telur (fried noodles with egg) and always include a serve of sayur hijau (green vegetables). It is basic in setting, but what they lack in decor they make up for with friendly smiles, great service, and super tasty food. Excellent value for money.Β

Ulu Artisan Uluwatu is a fantastic all-day dining establishment. Expect a contemporary and eclectic menu with a focus on using fresh, high-quality ingredients. Dishes are thoughtfully crafted, incorporating elements of wood-fired cooking and highlighting bold flavours. From pickled vegetables and charcuterie boards to roasted seafood, pasta dishes, and succulent meats, there is a diverse array of options to suit different preferences and tastes. Their cocktails are also really, really good!Β

Located closer to the Uluwatu temple, Ulu RestoΒ has old-school Bali vibes all the way. The decor is basic, the food is super satisfying,Β and the staff are just so lovely. The menu covers both Indonesian and Western dishes, but we think the local options and the grilled fish are the way to go. Portions are big and delicious, and the prices are low. Be sure to try their famous apple pie with ice cream for desert. Visiting from Holland? Have a chat with the owner Wayan, he speaks Dutch.Β Β

Looking for local food that’s quick, easy, and affordable?Β  Warung Local is a great option. They offer a great selection of nasi campur (nothing spicy here; the food caters to Western tastes) with lots of healthy, vegan, and vegetarian options. They also have a regular menu of Indonesian and western meals made to order. If the Bali heat is too much for you, sit in their air-conditioned section with an ice cream from their gelato bar.Β
