BEST PRIVATE BEACHES

1. KELLY'S WARUNG

As of July 21 2025, Kelly’s is closed.

Kelly’s Warung, an icon of Bingin Beach, sits right on the sand overlooking one of Bali’s best surf breaks. Its chilled, unpretentious vibe draws locals, expats, and beach lovers all day long – just be sure to stay for sunset. Grab a sofa downstairs or seat in their upstairs sunset deck, order an icy cold beer or cocktail of choice. Their menu is classic beach comfort food – super tasty tacos, burgers, wraps, and snacks – all absolutely delish! A must-visit in Bingin and Uluwatu.

2. THE BEACH

Bingin / Padang Padang / Thomas beach / Uluwatu / Dreamland / Balangan

Beast Beaches in Bali by Melali Bingin

Up for keeping it casual? Grab a sarong and make your way to a beach – Bingin Beach, Padang Padang, Uluwatu, Balangan or Dreamland are all great picks. Have a sunset dip and if the tide is low find a rock pool to float in. Thirsty? Grab a refresher at any warung and enjoy it with your feet in the sand. Bali life ain’t bad huh!

At Bingin Beach, be sure to try Ibu Deborah’s BBQ corn – you’ll see her cooking on the beach. Or stay for the nightly seafood BBQs from a few beach warungs – fresh, full of flavour with a front row ocean view. Highly recommended.

3. MANA

Uluwatu

The easy breezy style of Mana is a great choice if you like dazzling sunsets and a casual hipster/surfer vibe. Trendy t-shirts and flip flops are welcome here. Sip on craft beers (Island Brewing & Kura Kura), local wines, or one of their killer cocktails. Non-drinkers are covered too—with smoothies, kombuchas, and mocktails on offer. Lounge by the pool in a timber cabana, a comfy sun bed, or grab a comfy daybed. Too hot? Take a dip in the infinity pool and soak in that view. Prefer a bird’s eye vibe? Head upstairs. Here on a Friday? Hit happy hour from 4–7pm – it’s always a vibe.

4. SINGLE FIN

Uluwatu

Single Fin Uluwatu

Single Fin – the OG sunset spot of Uluwatu. From its inception as a modest warung back in 2008 to the bustling “it spot” of Uluwatu today, you’ll find this iconic bar on every sunset seekers must visit list. And for good reason – the view from their elevated cliff hugging terraces are simply spectacular. It gets busy—arrive early to snag a table or bar stool, grab a cocktail, and watch surfers score their last waves as the sun drops into the Indian Ocean. Got a crew? Book the VIP lounge for front-row seats. Their Sunday nights are legendary – big crowds, big energy, and a party vibe that goes well into the night.

Choose your sunset style: lounge on a daybed, float in the 25m pool, enjoy dinner up top, or head down the cliff to their beach bar for a barefoot, Robinson Crusoe vibe. Midweek is mellow (movie night under the stars on Tuesdays is a fave), but weekends bring the heat, with epic DJ sets from names like Carl Cox, Fatboy Slim, and Rudimental.
